Biography
Born in St. Louis, Mo, Monica Parks began her professional career in New York City acting off-Broadway, in regional theatre, internationally and as a member of the Circle Repertory Company Lab. She later returned to St. Louis as an actor working for several years with the St. Louis Black Rep, the Shakespeare Festival of St. Louis, the St. Louis Rep, among other venues. Now based in Los Angeles, CA, she continues to work in television, film, commercial, print, voiceover and theatre.
Nominated 2024 Critic's Pick Award, Outstanding Leading Performance in a Play for The House That Will Not Stand, by Canada's My Entertainment World; Awarded the St. Louis Critic's Judy Award for Best Supporting Actor in a play, for "The Violet Hour;" and shared best ensemble awards for "Women's Minyan" (Kevin Kline Award); and "Bingo!", "Black Medea", and "Striver's Row" (Consecutive Audelco Awards, 3 years running).
Holds a MFA in Classical Acting from Shakespeare Theatre Company's ACA in collaboration with The George Washington University.
